Billy Lane at Philadelphia Bike Show

January 31, 2007

As promised, here is the info from one of our family members about her experience at a recent bike show.

I went to the Philadelphia bike show this past weekend. It was smaller than I expected but there were some very nice bikes there.

I spoke to Dave Perewitz, Biker Billy, High King and Billy Lane. They were all very nice people. Billy Lane was the only one that had a large crowd gathered around and standing in line for his autograph. He had a cooler full of water and that is what he was drinking. He was more subdued than I have seen him in the past but it was still a pleasure to talk to him.

I asked Hugh King if he was going to have Billy back on BBO and he said he would like to but the network won’t touch him. I told him he should let the network know that his fans want him back on the show and that the network should see the crowd gathered around him at the show. I said I hoped the court would take into account the amount of charity work Billy has done and he agreed and said Billy has helped a lot of people. I told him that the accident had changed my life because I will never drink and drive again. He said he has been guilty of it in the past and only by the grace of God that the same thing hadn’t happened to us.

Dave Perewitz gave me a tip on a paint job I am thinking about.

Billy told me he liked my shirt (I had on an Indian Larry t-shirt). I had him sign a copy of the Horse magazine that had him on the cover. I told him I had talked to him at the Smokeout and I noticed he had road rash and wasn’t in a good mood. He said he was standing up on the bike, like Indian Larry, and someone pulled in front of him and he fell off the bike.

I did not hear anyone say anything negative about Billy.

I had a good time!!!!

I will try to send you some pictures of the event later.
