The Beachcruiser is surging
April 30, 2007
Hey,
I know I have been kind of missing for a couple of weeks. I just burned out some. A year of 16 hr days was tough. I am not complaining. As a matter of fact this website is setting records every single month. Train and I are proud to announce we will surpace 75,000 visits this month and record hits etc. We were doing 35,000 visits just a few months ago so, the traffic on this website has doubled in no time and is up from just 3,900 since our very first month. We are very proud and grateful. We want to thank everyone of you that visits with us both domestically and internationally. We have visitors from all over the world and we welcome all of our brothers and sisters to our family.
I have gained back a little energy so, the website is about to get a lot better. We will have more podcast interviews, more news, and a number of new features.Train is in the midst of creating an even better layout for all to enjoy. We are committed to being the best and that never changes. We’re on it so, stay tuned.
I have finished some upgrades to my ride and took her out for the first test ride today. The new handlebars are Ness lowriders and they make it much more comfortable and give me a feeling of more control. I had drag bars before and they just weren’t doing it for me. I did a few other custom things I had been thinking about for awhile. It feels great and accomplished what I wanted. I kept the drag bars just in case and if I had Rick Fairless’ money I’d just build a new one. I am not the “Texas Tycoon” so I can’t indulge the way I would like. Oh well, I’ll just have to make do with what I’ve got for now.
Rick wrote an interesting and very honest article about what it’s like to be in the business and about custom motorcycles. See, the thing about Rick Fairless is that not only is he a great guy, he is brutally honest. It’s one of the things I respect the most about him. He tells it like it is.Rick is a rare guy. He represents all the good things in the industry and is avaiable to anyone who wants to talk with him. He is all motorcycle and represents the industry as very few do. Hang in there for the articles. We will post them shortly. He even talks about the reality of owning a custom motorcycle which almost no one else does. I respect this guy which is why he is our partner in the family jewels and one of very few I trust without question.

You and Train are doing a great job . I hope you get some pay back for all your time and effort you have put into building this website .
Thanks D,
We really appreciate your sentiment. We do this for the love of world of motorcycles. We didn’t start out with anything like this in mind. We wanted a place that simply put would be something we were unable to find anywhere else.We were hoping to connect with some people like us who love the genre and represent in deed and thought what we invision brothers and sisters to be all about. We wanted to provide the best place we could for news, entertainment, ideas, thoughts, expression, communication and fun.We wanted to do it better than anyone else and make sure our visitors would not have to put up with or be terrorized by an element that exists out there. No intimidation, no degradation, no hate. We wanted to have a kick ass website for what we consider “real bikers”, good people, insiders and enthusiasts to just be themselves. We wanted to help the industry, we wanted to create something special. That’s pretty much it.
We had no idea that so many would find us and the site just keeps feeding on itself. It demands many hours of hard work which sometimes gets a little over the top. It’s just Train and me so, it can be overwhelming. We love what we do and we have “met” and become friends with a number of amazing people. You would be one of those people. We know a lot of industry insiders although not as well as we would like. We have found most to be incredible folks.Fairless, Goldammer, Trotta, Bert Baker, Scott Long, Scott Webster, Scout,The Big Dog folks, Dave Perewitz, Donnie Smith, Hank Young, all of the people I have interviewed are just great. That is an experience we hope to grow as everyone is all over the country.
We are open to new sponsors, family jewels members, and we will start to sell a few things we think as cool, special, for a fair price to get some income. This has never been about profit but,any income we derive helps us build a better mouse trap and get to do more for the site. The sponsors we do have say that the beachcruiser works in enhancing their business so, that’s good. We are really growing so that’s good too. It looks like 77,000 visitors for April which is 15,000 more than last month. We will get over 1.5 million hits. People visit from 120 different countries. We will do more video,we will do more cool things and we will continue to interview. We have great family like you, slopoke, Fairless,Merril, and Rick helping with photos and stories which is fantastic. We hope to get a couple of more people in the states and abroad to participate so we will have total, live, coverage of many events.
We hope to double everything again in the next year which would be super and take this as far as we can.
That’s the scoop D. We appreciate you very much.
