Harley To Discontinue 6 models-Cancels plan to sell in India

May 3, 2007

Hey,

It has come to my attention that Harley Davidson is Discontinuing six models!! One is the Dyna Wide Glide, The xl 833r Sportster,The Road King Custom, The Softail Standard, The Springer Classic and The FXSTD Deuce. I don’t know what, if anything will replace these models . We’re on it.

I also read that the much heralded deal for Harley to sell motorcycles in India is off. India is a huge market and most of Harley’s growth the last couple of years is from overseas. The U.S. Government was bragging about the Harley-India deal just a week or two ago.     Interesting

This is belated comment, but I just wanted to note my sadness over the collapse of the Harley India deal. I have friends in India who were looking forward to having greater Harley availability and choices there. Regrettable, but I guess they know their business.

Got something to say?
