>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Hi
I need help. I am trying to find a contact number for John Neger of Trik Daddys. I got real close to buying “The Predator” bike from John at the 2006 Daytona bike week. Did not manage to buy at the show as he wanted the money and to keep the bike for a couple of further shows which did not work for me. However I understand he has filed chapter 11 and I would really like to find the bike or him.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Roger Goldammer Pics
September 28, 2007
Our friend Roger Goldammer sent us this pic of one of his newest projects, a Manx Norton tribute bike. Manx Nortons were built to celebrate the British manufacturers domination of The Isle of Man. They had a distinctive look with tall fuel tanks and seats positioned toward the rear.
Roger’s interpretation of the classic is named “Notorious” and packs in plenty of the trademark Goldammer innovation. He started with an HD Evolution V-twin and converted it to a single cylinder by removing the aft cylinder and replacing it with a blower. The main shaft, clutch pack and belt drive were all shortened in order to pay homage to the original bikes shorter proportions.
Two S&S oil pumps provide the lubrication for the bike, both of which are hidden from view. The single cylinder can produce 83 hp at 6,400 rpm. Power is routed through a Baker 6–speed transmission to the rear wheel.
For full specs and a few more pics of this awesome bike, check out this month’s edition of Robb Report Motorcycling. The magazine is awesome!

Donnie Smith On The Family Jewels
September 27, 2007
Hey,
I just got off the phone with the legendary Donnie Smith. We have set up a podcast interview for Monday night 10/1/07. I will tape the interview and we will post it in the jewels asap.
It’s been awhile since we did a new interview although we have in excess of 20 already on The Jewels.I can think of no one better to kick off the next set of podcasts than Donnie. Donnie has been building custom motorcycles since way back when. He is an artist of the FIRST order and an origional Hamster. In short, he is one of the very best and well respected people in the motorcycle industry. I have met Donnie several times and he is just as nice a guy as he is royalty in the business. He walks the walk in a big way. Donnie lives and works in Minnesota.
You won’t want to miss this one!! The interviews are back!!

Punished!!!
September 27, 2007
hey,
I don’t know what I did or, which one of the things I did or, all the things I did to get punished by the almighty but, it’s still happening. We are having to send Trains computer back to the manufacturer for repairs. It’s a state of the art laptop which we bought when we started the beachcruiser. It’s kind of like the brain center of the operation and train makes it work. So, we’ll be here but the really best stuff will take about a week before we can get the puter back and post things. We still can post which I am doing right now(duh) but a lot of pics and other stuff will have to wait a few days. Train is pissed but we have backup and will plod along for now.I feel bad about not posting immediately some things we took and have been sent to us by friends and family but, we want to do it right.Doug Keim has sent us a preview of his build(Agness) for Las Vegas Bikefest which we want to share. Sam Herron sent us some pics of his new build, we got some great shots of Goldammer’s Bonneville masterpiece and more. We also have more from the Perewitz fall Foliage weekend. There is more and we will get it up(so to speak) as soon as possible.
We should hear more about Billy soon and we will report it when we have it. I can’t believe I’m thinking about Indy already but, I am. Rick has his big anniversary bash this weekend and anyone who can go is crazy if they don’t. He’s really going all out. You also have Las Vegas Bikefest this weekend which is a great event in sin city. We have only missed once before this year.
I’m getting my ride back from master mechanic Rocky Lane this weekend and it should purr like a kitten, roar like Zippy. I am excited about that.
We have some new things planned. We’re going to give away something to an old and a new Family Jewels member. We’re going to start interviewing again. I’m calling Donnie Smith tomorrow who I have been wanting to interview for 6 months. He has been more than willing. I am the screw up. We have others lined up as well. www.thebeachcruiser.com lives and although we get a little tired now and then we are still committed to be the very best custom motorcycle website out there for a very long time.

Planes,Trains,Automobiles,Teleportation
September 26, 2007
Hey,
Train and I are home. We had a great time on “the Cape”. The Perewitz fall foliage run was a success and we got to meet a lot of super people. Susan Perewitz(Dave’s better half) is an amazing woman!! She is very cool and just lights up any room she is in. I always feel great when I see Susan because she always has a big smile and a hug. The weekend charity event is NOT an easy thing to pull off and Susan is everywhere. She is cooking, greeting, helping out with everything and most of all,she is being Susan. Dave and Susan open up their home to over 200 people not just on Friday night but again on Sunday. You must remember the guests are mostly Hamsters, other bikers, neighbors and friends. We eat a lot, drink a little and make a little noise. It’s a lot of work for the family and everyone who supports the event.Imagine a full three days of people partying in and around your home. There was a ride on Saturday and then the lobster, barbeque and chicken dinner Saturday night. There was a silent auction on Friday and train and me were high bid on a hand made vase. All the proceeds go to M.S. which is the charity for this event. There was the live auction on Saturday night with the “King of Flames” as the M.C. I understand that Dave is the M.C. at all of the Hamster events. He really can run an auction and lots of money was raised. It does a person proud to see people bidding up everything to inflated prices just to help the needy. The Hamsters are a great bunch and they really support one another. There were a few items that were for Hamsters only which we could not bid on because we do not wear the yellow. There were items hand painted by Dave which were very cool, there was a shirt signed by Rick Fairless,a pair of yellow converse all star sneakers, there was a jacket and hat from Arlen Ness, there was an origional ” David Mann framed lithograph, foot and hand pegs from Scott Webster( Leroy Thompson) and many more cool items donated for the auction.
On Sunday there was a poker run to Provincetown Rhode Island and then another event ending party at the Perewitz house. There were some very amazing motorcycles to oogle and I got a real bath from “Zippy” the dog. He is amazing. He loves to play, is very affectionate, a real charmer.
The people were the best part of the event. We saw Donnie Smith, Scott Webster,The Perewitz family and a few other folks we already knew. We met many more people we had never met before. People came from Arkansas, Canada, San Diego, Atlanta, all over the country to honor the Perewitz family and to support their effort.I had a long chat with Joe”Pro”. Joe is a long time friend of the P’s and has purchased 15 motorcycles from Dave over the years. He is a teriffic guy and a serious cancer survivor. He told me that when he had to have brain surgery how supportive Dave and his fellow Hamsters were. He said he was flooded with phone calls and flowers and love from all his Hamster brothers and how much that helped him through a very scary time and boosted his effort to recover. That folks, is a real life story of what the biker community is all about and the kind of people that call themselves “Hamsters”.We were struck by how friendly everyone was.We feel lucky to have experienced the event.Jody and Kory Perewitz are also great people and our hats off to Donna Tocci for all her good work.
O.K.,
It’s not all gooey and fun. Traveling was almost intolerable as has been the case for me and Train lately. We made our plane to Providence R.I. by literally two minutes!! We left three hours before take off and because of construction were stressed out all the way. We didn’t know about the construction. We rushed to get on a plane that looked like and felt like it was going to fall apart. No chance to relax on this bucket of bolts and we finally arrived in Providence in the late afternoon. Then it was another 3 hours to get our car and drive to the “Cape” where everything was happening. We were told it was anywhere from 1hr 15 mins to 2 1/2 hrs. Well, suffice it to say it took us almost 10 hrs. to get to our destination and then there was nowhere to get a solid meal. That my friends, is a LONG DAY!!!
We were supposed to leave on monday in the early afternoon. Well, we got to the airport 3 hrs. early again. We went through security( which is always a lot of fun) and then to our gate. When we got there we found that the flight was CANCELLED. Yep, they said nothing when we checked in only about 30 mins earlier. We had to find out where to go and ended up at a La Quinta Inn which was under repair, had no restaurant,no online access, was in a bad part of town and had to spend the night there. We were given $7 food money which obviously is enough for a couple of beers and nowhere to eat.The airline starts with a D and ends with an A. Train is going to say hi, tomorrow and share our feelings.. The next flight to Atlanta was 12:30 p.m. today. We got there went through all the same crap, got to the gate and it said the flight was delayed. To make a long story shorter we got home at 9: p.m. Our return adventure took 32 hrs. Train and I had a similiar experience returning from Sturgis so, in six weeks we traveled twice and had to stay over twice.
We are sticking close to home for awhile and I am investing in teleportation. This flying crap and driving crap is just beyond belief. We already live in the foothills. Where the hell are we supposed to go next? It’s a work in progress.
We are sorry for the lack of news but between hell and the lack of an internet connection there wasn’t much we could do about it. We realize there are a couple of technical glitches, we have some emails to respond to and some stuff to post from Doug Keim, Sam Herron(the garage goon) and others who were kind enough to send us some of their work.Train held it together again!! I couldn’t do it without her.

Perewitz Fall Foliage Run — First Night
September 22, 2007
The first night of the Perewitz’s 15th Annual Fall Fling went off extremely well. Over two hundred Hamsters, their friends and family gathered at Dave and Susan’s house on Cape Cod for food, fun and fellowship. I think it’s fair to say that everyone had a terrific time. Even the little terrier, Zippy, was having a ball.
The food was fantastic and plentiful. We loved Susan’s delicious “clam chowda” the best. On the grill there were hamburgers, chicken, steak tips and more. Boston baked beans, clams, potato salad, and nachos were to be had as well. If you left hungry, it was your own fault. Of course, plenty of beer and soft drinks were flowing as well.
The band was great and played some classic rock with a little newer stuff thrown in. Their sound lent a festive air to the occasion and helped to get everybody in a party mood.
The weather itself was quite warm for the year, but pleasant. Not too warm, not too cool. I guess somebody would say, “Goldilocks weather”.
As we walked through the front yard, we could see a fantastic display of bikes from all over the region and even the country. It’s too bad that it was too dark to get any pics. We hope to get some for you today or tomorrow.
One of the most important aspects of the event was the silent auction, all proceeds of which would be donated to a local charity. There were items from several well known builders and industry leaders on display. We will not name them here to preserve their anonymity. Suffice it to say you could bid on anything from jewelry to parts to a scale model of an Arlen Ness bike to a bubble gum machine – and several other things. It was a terrific show of support by fellow Hamsters and others in the industry.
Dave, Susan, Jody and Cory were the perfect hosts. They opened their home to their friends and gave so freely of their hospitality. It’s tough to pull off a party with that many people in attendance and the Perewitzes did a stand up job. We look forward to seeing them again tonight and letting you in on the results of the fishing expedition. (No, Beach and I did not attend.)
Until then, we hope you’re enjoying your weekend. We will have some pics to post later as well. We will show you the hotel we’re staying in, some local scenery, and some shots from the party last night.
Bourget’s join 1in8 Motorsports Series Against Breast Cancer.
September 20, 2007
One more from the great folks at AMD…

BOURGET’S Bike Works has announced a unique partnership with the 1 in 8 Motorsports Series Against Breast Cancer. The motorcycle manufacturer will build 25 limited edition custom Lady Low Blow bikes bearing the 1 in 8 badge and marks.
The bike, a slightly downsized model of the popular Low Blow, is being built for women who want a Bourget custom motorcycle, but scaled to be a very comfortable bike. The motorcycle will be available with a vast array of options to make each bike a one of a kind, and the first 25 produced will receive a special limited edition pearl white paint with Celtic pink ribbons and custom 1 in 8 Motorsports billet wheels.
“We had been searching for three years for a partnership like this, and the people at Bourget have really stepped up,” said Ken Vrana, CEO of 1in8. “We’ve already received over 30 inquiries from potential buyers interested in the bike. We’re really looking forward to introducing this bike, not only to the domestic market but overseas as well.”
In 2006/2007, Southside Customs, Motocycos, Extreme Custom Cycles of Sarasota, Florida, Kreative Metal Works, Busted Knuckles and Ardcore Choppers built and donated handmade bikes to the 1 in 8 series, which will be auctioned off in the near future at 1 in 8 events, which are held all over the country.
When asked about the importance of this limited edition bike, Roger Bourget, President and CEO of Bourget’s Bike Works, said: “On behalf of my wife Brigitte, and the entire Bourget’s Bike Works family, I am thrilled to be associated with this organization to help promote breast cancer awareness to the motorcycle community. These 25 bikes are designed to make a statement on the road and hopefully for the lives of women around the world.”

We’re Off To See The Wizard(s)
September 20, 2007
Hey,
We’re off to Massachussetts tomorrow to visit with the Perewitz Family and and the 200 plus people they invited to ” The Fall Foliage” event for charity. We have no idea who will be there except for Train, Myself, a bunch of Hamsters, a bunch of lobsters, a few mutual friends and a bunch of New England’s finest. We’re ready(almost) and set to enjoy the weekend.
Our friend and family member Brenda Fox sent us a copy of The Robb Report “motorcycling”. Brenda is a competitive rider, a model, a writer, a great gal and very alluring. She is a very talented woman who proves you can be beautiful and smart all at the same time.
This is a magazine we recommend!! On the cover is our buddy and industry icon Roger “the great” Goldammer’s creation(Notorious). We featured this motorcycle on our website and it is yet another example of the genius Roger posesses. This motorcycle is so unique and yet built for a purpose. The purpose is to run fast, very fast on salt.We don’t yet know the result of Roger’s adventure at Bonneville but we do know he was shooting for about 170 m.p.h. We’ll check in with him when we return.
This is a very cool magazine. It costs $5.95 American which is cheap for what you get. They review for example the Harley Davidson “Rocker C” amongst other things. The photography is first rate and so is the magazine. It is the 2008 Preview Special Edition Issue October/November. We want to thank Brenda for sending it to us.

Custom Chrome President Holger Mohr to resume European role
September 19, 2007
AMD Magazine brings us this story of Custom Chrome President, Holger Mohr.

THE Global Motorsport Group has announced that Custom Chrome President Holger Mohr will resume his role as Managing Director Of Custom Chrome in Europe at the beginning of October.
The move follows a year-and-a-half of “successful initiatives aimed at improving the market position of the company’s U.S. operations”, according to the Morgan Hill, California based distributor.
“It has been a privilege to work with the U.S. team for the past year and a half,” said Mohr. “When our partner Cerberus Financial was looking for an industry insider to re-position the business for a return to long-term growth and profits, I saw it as an important challenge and a great opportunity to make a difference in the company and industry I care deeply about.”
“We began immediately with a series of restructuring steps that were designed to improve our operations and cost base,” Mohr said. In addition to establishing a new management and sales team, Mohr notes that his successes include a completely refreshed product portfolio, initiatives that have improved customer fill rates, a redesigned catalog launch and a successful reintroduction of the company to the industry at the 2007 Cincinnati V-Twin Expo.
“As conditions in the U.S. market have caused many to look to Europe for growth, we felt it important that Holger again focuses on maintaining the market dominance of CCE in the European market,” added Dan Cook, Chief Executive Officer, Global Motorsport Group, Inc.
“Holger has done a great job strengthening the operation and putting in place a team that can take us to the next level, and uniquely among distributors he is an ‘ace up our sleeve’ in terms of being able to drive sales and profits in growing European markets,” said Cook.
“I have truly enjoyed my assignment in the U.S.,” Mohr added. “The growing strength of the company gives me the opportunity to return home confident that I’m turning over domestic operations to a solid management team.”
