Inaugural Biker Fusion Event at the Seminole Hard Rock Roadhouse in the Doghouse Bar & Grill on Main Street Raises over $30,000 for Soldiers’ Angels

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – March 24, 2008 – The Seminole Hard Rock Roadhouse in the Doghouse Bar & Grill was home to bike builders, babes, and a huge benefit where the motorcycle industry came together to support Soldiers’ Angels. Hosted by Billy Lane of Choppers Inc. and Paul Cox of Paul Cox Industries, the Biker Fusion event displayed the generosity that is generally associated with the motorcycle community. The motorcycle industry’s top builders, media figures and motorcycle icons were all on hand to support the troops and this great cause. It once again showed that the Doghouse Bar & Grill was the hottest spot on Main Street every night of bike week.

This event gave the general public a chance to mix with the A-list of the motorcycle industry while raising money for a great cause, Soldiers’ Angels. By the end of the week, the industry raised over $30,000 for Soldiers’ Angels with the specific mission of providing money to outfit a convoy support center in Iraq, Camp (Taqaddum) TQ. This generous donation for the troops would not have been possible without Billy Lane and Paul Cox’s support as well as sizeable contributions from Max Osceola and the Seminole Tribe of Florida, Bruce Rossmeyer’s Destination Daytona, Ron Segal at Segal Fine Arts, Biker Design, Dave Marshlack of the Doghouse Bar & Grill, P.I.N.K. Vodka, The Next Great American Bike Builder, Sucker Punch Sally’s, Broward Motorsports, R&R Promotions, Rise Above Consulting and Baker Drivetrain. Once again, bikers stepped up and supported those who fight for our right to be free.

“The Biker Fusion event was designed to maintain the camaraderie of our industry while doing a great event for a very worthwhile cause. We wanted to make sure everyone could afford to come so we kept the ticket donation price at a minimum in hopes that attendees would then open their hearts and wallets to give more for the cause. We also wanted the general public to be involved, which they were. I’m as proud of the Biker Fusion event as when I started the Bikers Ball in 1996. Biker Fusion represents our industry and bikers coming together for a good cause. You can expect to see more Biker Fusion events in the future,” said Carrie Repp, owner of R&R Promotions.

The money raised will supply needed comforts for the convoy support center at Marine Camp (Taqaddum) TQ in Iraq. This camp is halfway between the cities of Fallujah and Ramadi in al-Anbar Province and has convoys from all branches of the military going in and out several times each day. Typically, there is little for the troops to do when they are not on duty because they cannot leave the camp. The money the Biker Fusion event raised will help outfit the camp with an Internet café and will provide some creature comforts, such as American DVDs, CDs, televisions and poster art. The idea is to give the troops a much needed rest when they are not working, and the motorcycle industry wanted to show its support by helping to provide a taste of home. There will be a formal check presentation at the National Guard Washoe County Armory, on April 24th in Reno, NV.

“We knew that the industry would come out to support an awesome cause like this, and as soon as we got the fundraising going that night, it was obvious that the event was going to top all expectations. I couldn’t be prouder of the men and women who risk their lives every day and am grateful that our industry and the biker community as a whole came out to support such a great event,” said Paul Cox of Paul Cox Industries.

Once again, the Seminole Hard Rock Roadhouse at the Doghouse Bar & Grill showed itself the place to be for bike week with hotter babes, colder beer and better bikes than anywhere else in Daytona. The Doghouse was the hottest place to be on Main Street and was packed every night of the week.

hey guys! As a builder that attended this event, i can’t say enough about the effort and support that was given to our soldiers. As you know, we have a special connection with the soldiers (family members) as well as our build for Ash Spurlin a Special Ops solder we’re doing a cool build for . He arrives back in the states in June/July and we’re planning on riding his new bike around the country to raise monies for widows and families of Spec Ops soldiers killed in the line of duty. Anyway, this even was awesome and we’re looking forward to participating next year too!
    Thanks,

Got something to say?
