Donnie Smith Bike Show
March 31, 2008
Hey,
We got an email from Mr. Motorcycle telling us about the Donnie Smith Bike Show. He said he had a great time and had the thrill of meeting Donnie and Dave Perewitz in person. He was very pleased that both guys took a photo with him. He said Dave was an icon of his. Mr. Motorcycle does custom paint himself and said that Dave was inspirational. He also said that when he went to school to study painting John Kosmoski the industry famous painter and owner of House Of Color had a big impact on him. He took photos at the show and has offered to share them with us.Mr. Motorcycle is a good guy and a new friend of this website. He has recently started a website of his own.
I saw Dave and Donnie at Dave’s Fall Foliage Run and Dave always attends Donnie’s show. When you seem them you can feel the friendship they have for each other. Both men support the industry with their charity and each goes to a lot of events every year.I am always amazed that they fit so much into their schedules as they are both very in demand custom builders with shops of their own.We have a special feeling for the Perewitz family and Donnie has always been great to me.The way these guys are with each other, the way they support each other is the best part of business. They are both founders of The Hamsters along with Susan Perewitz and of course Arlen. The Ness’s started their own show a couple of years ago and I am pretty sure all the guys got together there too. We know Dave has been a mentor and friend to up and coming builder Scott Webster and we saw that again in Cincinnati. Scott traveled to support Dave at his charity event and came all the way from Ohio to the Cape.It makes me feel proud the way these guys are there for each other and I wanted to make a point of it.
We’ll get those pictures from Mr. Motorcycle and share them with all of you.

Beach, Correction to your post. Sorry I did not see Donnie Smith myself this time around, I was just at the show. I did see Dave P. and John K. I took a picure of the Donnie Smith Premium Chopper though.
By the way, kind of cool trivia.. Donnie Smith’s Shop is in my home town in Blaine, Mn. If the wind blows right, I can almost spit there.
I’ll be sure and get the pics to you soon.
Hey Beach, good post! They all do have a great friendship! Donnie’s show was great. Scott Webster was hanging out with us in MN too! They are all great guys!
The show had an awesome turnout and even better weather! I was sad to leave because St. Paul is definitely on my favorites list!
