Miss Sturgis Contest Wraps Up

On-line vote proves diversity of the biker community

Sturgis, S.D. – March 31, 2008 – The Miss Sturgis 2008 and Girls of Sturgis Bike Week contest, after eight weeks of on-line voting, has produced a diverse array of 12 beautiful and personable finalists for the title of Miss Sturgis. A panel of judges will make the final selection for Miss Sturgis; the ladies are coming in from all over the country for their interviews and photo shoots.

Following the fourth round of voting, more finalists were announced. They are:
MxChick, a model, actress, pro wrestler and motocross racer from Louisville;

Barbie, a nursing student from Lima, Ohio, who loves to ride Harleys;

Sparky, an outdoorswoman who loves to dance, from Scottsdale, Arizona;

Brandy, an avid traveler, who recently moved from Omaha to Rapid City

The new Miss Sturgis already has her first assignment. At the end of April she will be flying to Redwing Motorcycle in Boston where she will shoot the cover photo for the “Sturgis Rally News” with Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler.

The Girls of Sturgis Bike Week will also be busy with radio and magazine interviews and, of course, the photo shoots for the calendar. Each page will feature a different location and motorcycle. Miss Sturgis will grace August 2008 where she will be photographed at the production line of Lehman Trikes. The lady chosen for June will be on a chopper in the casino at Deadwood Gulch Resort. December will feature the lingerie of One Bad Bitch and August 2009 will be on location at Black Hills Harley-Davidson. Other pages for sponsors Budweiser, Cranky Ape and Epic Outdoor Signs will be with an assortment of custom and antique motorcycles in a variety of exciting Black Hills locations. Sturgis Bike Week, Inc. designed the wardrobe for the Girls of Sturgis Bike Week. The calendars will be free at Thunder Road, the Sturgis Bike Week retail stores on Main Street, and several sponsors’ locations where the Girls will be autographing them, August 3-8.
