S&S will continue to support the Ace’s regular v-twin night by giving away product awards to the best v-twin that in attendance that night. The product can be redeemed at local S&S dealers in the UK.
S&S Cycle Director of Business Development, Michael Scaletta said “The X-Wedge engine is certainly gaining significant interest in the UK; this was obvious to us at the Ace as well as the interest shown at the custom bike show in London. I would like to personally thank the Ace for all that they do including their involvement as an entrant in the S&S 50th Anniversary Celebration.”
Ace founder and Managing Director, Mark Wilsmore said “In our respective anniversary years, we are delighted and proud to be working with the world’s leading v-twin engine manufacturer, and are particularly honored to have been able to unveil the S&S X-Wedge engine at the cafe and present it at the inaugural London International Custom Bike Show. We are also looking forward to attending the S&S 50th celebrations in Wisconsin and being able to participate in this historic event”.
Originally opened in 1938, the Ace Cafe was designed to accommodate the traffic traveling on the then new North Circular Road. Because the cafe was open 24 hours a day it soon started to attract motorcyclists. It became popular with the Ton Up Boys & Rockers in the 1950s and 60s, becoming the local hangout for the petrol heads. Today the refurbished premises attract Rockers and motorcyclists from all over the world who go to the Ace to share stories, fix bikes and experience the legend itself.
