Alan Lee-Chopper Challenge-Amazing!!
July 3, 2008
Hey,
I had a great time watching Chopper Challenge tonight. It’s late but I wanted to comment while things are fresh in my mind.
This was really a very cool episode. Alan is simply amazing. He is from Belgium French accent and all but he also speaks a universal language. The language needs no words as it is all there in the art, the creativity, the imagination of this man.Alan is an artist, a sculpter, a creative force who uses motorcycles as a medium. The motorcycle he built for Monster Energy Drinks is not only beautiful but is totally unique.I mean this creation runs on hydrogen. Arnie Boyle is the man behind this fantastic hydrogen seperator which provides much more power, much more torque and burns clean. It basically runs on anything with hydrogen like water.Alan even used Monster’s Energy Drink as fuel. I hope I got that right as I am not well versed in the technology but it nonetheless is mindbogling.
The aesthetics of this build were also incredible. There is a custom glass gas tank, a frame exclusive to Alan, Jewlery as accents, great paint and pinstriping by edgar Rodriguez. The great Bert Baker stopped in to help Alan with the gearbox. It had to be stronger because of the higher torque and power of this system. The drivetrain of course was from Baker Drivetrain and Bert himself flew in to help. Master builder Craig Whitford swooped in on a trike to help Alan do the build. Craig is from Texas and I wonder if he made the trip by trike.Alan used a tig welder provided by Miller which makes aluminum 10 times easier to weld than with any other model out there.
The show was a technological joy as were the people building this one off creation.I felt the karma everyone shared and the passion to create. There was a lot of good energy in that shop and you felt it.I guess you can tell I enjoyed the show.
This was my idea of good t.v. especially for those of us who love art, technology and the motorcycle. The comraderie was palpable. I mean Alan, Bert, Craig, Arnie and the others in the same place working together. What more do you need?
Alan Lee Creations is based in Los Angeles(Newport Beach). I wish I lived closer so I could hang with these folks. They are that cool.Check out www.thechopperchallenge.com to see all the bikes and builders and vote for your favorite. One more episode to go. It should be a good one

Whow, nothing more to say, thanks for your appreciation, team effort pay when people believe on the project, in this case it was a great adventure
Agreed that was an awesome show! I can’t believe that bike actually runs on hydrogen! (basically). Are you sure they didn’t fill those cans up off screen with gas? LOL I’ve googled Arnie Boyle & nothing other than this post came up. I can’t believe this guy has stayed under the radar with such a cool invention. Where do I find one for my bike/cars/truck etc.!!! The chopper was absolutely bitchin too.
i would like info on hydrogen generator you used on the bike if you could email me the info i would appreciated. thank you
I thought it was a great show to i was surprised to see them actually use an HHO generator I would like to see the exact details of the one they used on the show. If you go to you tube and search for HHO or hydrogen generators their are hundreds of videos on how the fuel cell works, and many show you how to build them.
If anyone has information on where to buy that hydrogen gizmo or a web link with information about it. please post it.
Thanks
We effectively poor gas and not energy drink on the tank :-)), I ‘ll had some info about the generator next week on my website
Ooops,
Sure didn’t look like gas to me.Hydrogen power is a cool concept.I was reading about a guy who claims to be able to supply power using hydrogen for utilities etc.The experts say it’s not possible but there are some who say it works. Imagine a hydrogen powered world.
I guess I shouldn’t pour Monster in my gas tank just yet(lol). It will be interesting to see Arnie’s generator to actually see how it works.Am I the only one who thought it was monster in that tank? Editing is an amazing thing. I’ll take the hit.

I want to know where I can pick up one of those generators for the motorcycle, I’m interested in dropping one on my chopper to see if the concept is there. Anyone out there that has any info on where I can get one please feel free to drop me a line. Also if any one is a Veteran THANK YOU for your service, I’m a vet with a 100% from the VA. Looking to spark up a hobby with this idea to keep other vets motivated so we could ride longer without having to look for gas stations.
my daughter would think this is lout
Alan, your bike was my FAVORITE on Chopper Challange. You rock!
My neighbor built the Jim Beam bike.
But as far as I was concerned, you should have one HANDS DOWN!
Great Job Alan
My favorite bike out of the group but I like the molotov cocktail bike better ;)
(1st glass bike)
LOL
Guess who :)

You were supposed to put something on your web site about the HHO Generator weeks ago. What happened? I contacted you directly through your site and your response was the same as it was here “there will be info on my site”. At least here you give everyone a time line on when it is going to happen. Oh yah. That was a month ago, and it still isn’t there!! Don’t get me wrong, I thing you build a hell of a bike and they are real works of art. I am just getting abit frustrated in the fact that I can’t get my questions answered.
Your bike on Chopper Challenge is what got me looking in to HHO Generators. I also saw one being installed in a Winabago on Altereco. I emailed Love Craft the people that installed it on the show and I got two confilcting email back, one saying they don’t work and then a second one telling me they do and to check out the California state test results.
Some people will tell you that something like this can’t work because your trying to create a perpetual motion machine, which in a sents your “Water in, Water out” now because of that pesky thing called friction their wright it won’t work.
However the way I look at what is going on is this we are trying to capture lost energy and reuse it. All vehicles have an electrical system that produces more electrical energy then they can use and that energy is used to run the ingition true but it also runs your lights, radio, GPS, Laptop, PDA, Cell phone, and what ever else we think we should plug in to are vehicles. Well once the battery is charged the excess electrical energy is lost if it isn’t used. Well these systems take that excess electrical energy and turn is back in to a fuel in the form of HHO that can be burned in the conbustion chamber, reducing the amount of gas needed to run the system. In theory this should work, however I am not an expert on HHO systems, and like the rest of you I want to know more.
I have been trying to do some research myself on the net. This is frustrating as well. You get just enough information that sounds like a used car salesman saying “TRUST ME”. I even got in to Consumers Report and tried to see what I could find out over there and there are a bunch of people in the fourms asking for more information like everyone is doing here. CR said they were looking in to it and gave links to totally useless and unrelated information.
Good Luck Guys, I am not having any.
