BAKER Drivetrain announces the departure of Anthony ‘Scout’ Underwood, Marketing Director, effective August 29th, 2008.

Since joining the company in February 2005, Anthony has enthusiastically nurtured the Baker brand, spreading our message of premium quality, continuous innovation, and selfless support through his efforts.  At the same time, Anthony has established a solid foundation for our creative, marketing and public relations efforts.  We send him off with pride and wish him well in his next adventure, leading a new entity which will guide Harley-Davidson in their efforts to respond to the ‘next generation’ prospective riders as well as hardcore younger riders.

Effective immediately, Latricia ‘Trish’ Horstman assumes responsibility for media interface and public relations in addition to her current duties.  Trish has been Art Director at Baker Drivetrain since November 2005 and has worked closely with Anthony Underwood in developing our marketing systems.

Effective September 8th, 2008, James Simonelli will join our Sales and Marketing Staff. With over 15 years experience in the motorcycle industry, the most recent 12 spent with S&S Cycle, James brings a wealth of knowledge to our  organization.  James will be handling technical and international sales as well as sponsorships and promotions.

Change is a daily part of life. Some to the good and some not. I think of this industry and it’s inseption. I’ve been here pretty much from the start. (choppers). No not 1903. Close. In the 70’s Jammer was the name now JP is the name. Jammer is still out there. Custom Crome is still there too. Regrouping they are. You would read a mag. about the Andrew’a gear or cam. Still out there too. S&S will be ok as long as managment keeps it togeather. Stay with in the budget and go with the market. Layoffs and such are a part of survival. Baker is doing great. And will as long as they look at the furture remember history and manage to the market.

    Hi Knuck,
It seems that Scout got a new job with Harley. Scout is a young, talented guy and Harley wants to reach out to the next generation of riders.Scout has the background, the talent, the drive so: he was a logical pick.
Bert Baker is always one step ahead and just an amazing guy and talent. He spotted Scout and gave him his first shot.
Trish Horstman is taking over and she is going to do a great job. She has been with Bert for quite awhile and worked closely with scout. It should be a seemless transition.
We look forward to working with her and Baker as we have for two years.Baker Drivetrain is at the top of our list of the great companies in the industry and the most loyal sponsor we have had.
Go Bert, Go Trish, Go Baker!!!!

Oh you are right. Bert is doing an awesome job. Just do not fall out of reallity. Just say’in Jammer, Custom and a lot more were once at the top of their game. Something went wrong or they still would be.

Got something to say?
