Hey,
Sometimes I wonder why Trin and I do The Beachcruiser. We love motorcycles, we love our friends in the industry, we love the events, I suppose we love “the life” I am reminded today what is most important to us.
We got this email from Sgt Silva. The fact that he reads the beachcruiser and he is aware of what the great people in the industry do to try and support our troops is a big deal to me. Sgt Silva and all the men and women in uniform are our heroes. They risk their lives every day to protect America, to make sure that our freedom’s are protected. There is no politics in what they do. They serve mostly annonymously yet, they are the ones who deserve the rewards, they are the ones who should be on t.v. They are the ones we should be thinking about. The politicians don’t represent us. Our soldiers are the ones.
I am honored to be a part of an industry that supports these men and women every day. There is always an event going on somewhere to try and let them know how much we appreciate them, how important their service is. The event Sgt. Silva is referring to is being held this week at Daytona. It’s very cool that at least some of our soldiers are aware of it. It is very cool that we make a difference.
Now, I remember why we do this. It isn’t about money because we don’t make any. It isn’t about glory because there isn’t any. It isn’t about ego because doing the “cruiser” is more often than not a humbling experience. It’s about our brothers and sisters, it’s about our heroes, our friends, our families and the great people who are in this industry. It’s about Sgt. Silva and all of those in Afghanistan, Iraq and around the world who “walk the walk” every day.
Thank You
Beach
Amen to that brother!
