Hey,

There is a new owner of American Ironhorse.Scott Meyers, a former defense industry executive was the court appointed buyer. Mr. Meyers paid $6.7 million dollars plus he is taking on the liabilities of extended warranties. The final sales price is about $8 million.

Mr. Meyers plans to move to Ft Worth Texas to run the company. He is honoring waranties on existing bikes.Mr, Meyers currently operate A.I.H. dealerships in Montana and Minnesota. The court rejected an offer from Lynn Tilton who argued he had made a better offer.

We think it’s great that AIH is back in business and that it will remain in Ft. Worth. We think it is very cool that Mr. Meyers is honoring warranties and service contracts. We had a number of readers write to ask what they could do about warranties on the bikes they had purchased before the bankruptcy filing some as recently as a week before. It is good for these trusting people and for the industry itself that Mr. Meyers is stepping up. We salute him and wish him the best of luck. It is also great that a lot of people will still have a job doing what they love.
