Custom Chrome announces permanent price reductions on RevTech driveline products
In what the company is emphasizing “is not a sale, but a permanent price reduction”, Custom Chrome has announced lower dealer pricing across the board on the RevTech engines and driveline products produced exclusively for them by parent company DAE-IL Corporation.
The lower pricing program was announced on November 7th and was “effective immediately” on its full range of RevTech engines and transmissions, including its Euro 3 and EPA certified products.
The firm’s statement said that “this reduction is designed to achieve maximum value for the product line without compromising its margin value to the selling dealer.”
Steve Veltri, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, said “this is a worldwide effort and will be put into effect by both Custom Chrome and Custom Chrome Europe.”
Holger Mohr, the firm’s CEO, said “while other company’s have been forced to increase pricing due to rising raw material prices and an unstable economy, Custom Chrome is able to pass on the savings it has achieved with its suppliers and further support the customer. We felt it was important to give back to those that have been loyal and long-standing customers.”
In a clear broadside aimed at those who continue to question the firm’s viability and business model, Mohr went on to state that “we will continue to sell these products through our dealer network and not shortcut the supply chain and our established relationships through deceptive practices or selling retail direct.
“Custom Chrome is a manufacturer and wholesale distributor, period. We do not sell directly to the retail public, but support our network of worldwide dealers. Our prices are suggested retail prices and, as is always the case, actual retail selling prices are set by our dealers. This initiative is one of many we have planned to help our dealers achieve sales growth with us at established margins.”
Mohr is also pointing to Custom Chrome’s plans to continue to evaluate this and other programs and to take on additional component inventory to support this product line in the market. “This is not an increase in complete engine inventory alone. We have undertaken a substantial investment to ensure transmissions, belt drives, replacement and service items are available to support these products in the dealerships and on the street,” said Mohr.
